Ayushman Bharat: Supreme Court Pauses Delhi HC's Order Directing Rollout Of Centre's Scheme In Delhi
In a relief to the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)-led Delhi government ahead of the much-awaited Delhi Assembly Elections, the Supreme Court on Friday stayed an order asking the Delhi government to sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Union Health Ministry by January 5 to implement the PM Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission (PM-ABHIM).
The top court's order came while hearing a plea filed by the Delhi government against the direction of the Delhi High Court. The Delhi government's plea was filed through advocate Talha Abdul Rahman.

MEA Says 12 Indians Recruited By Russian Military Are Dead; 16 Missing
The Ministry of External Affairs announced that in their recent communication with Russia, it has been revealed that 12 Indian nationals who were serving in the Russian military have lost their lives. Meanwhile, among the total number of Indians who were working with the Russian military so far, 16 of them are missing.
The MEA's response comes after an Indian national recruited by the Russian military was killed and another sustained injuries recently in Russia's ongoing conflict with Ukraine.

Israel's security Cabinet on Friday recommended approval of a ceasefire deal after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed an agreement had been reached that would pause the 15-month war with Hamas in Gaza and release dozens of hostages held by militants there.
Mediators Qatar and the US announced the ceasefire on Wednesday, but the deal hung in limbo for more than a day as Netanyahu insisted there were last-minute snags he blamed on Hamas.

Manu Bhaker and D Gukesh provided a sprinkling of stardust but it was India's perseverant para-athletes who walked away with the most boisterous applause when President Droupadi Murmu bestowed the National Sports Awards in a regal ceremony at the Rashtrapati Bhavan on Friday. Double Olympic-medallist Bhaker, 18-year-old chess world champion Gukesh, men's hockey captain Harmanpreet Singh and Paralympic gold-winning high jumper Praveen Kumar were presented the country's highest sporting honour -- the Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna. The most heartwarming moment of the ceremony was when India's first Paralympic gold-medallist Murlikant Petkar walked up to the President on crutches to receive the Arjuna award (lifetime). Murmu met the 80-year-old war hero half way to present him the award.
